there was once a lionfish living in the deep sea. amongst a family of lionfish (duh) it grew and became a healthy little lionfish. but soon its community was to be expanded. i mean it is the deep blue sea. definitely there are other creatures around. such as you noe, angelfish... eels... swordfish... catfish... bass... cod... manta rays... clownfish... dorys... jellyfish... trouts... sharks... whales... salmon... seahorses... all sorts. so very soon little lionfish got to noe a few good frenz. three of em were the catfish, jellyfish, and the japanese lemon shark. they enjoyed their childhood very much, when friendship somehow was very pure.

yet the lionfish being poisonous, created a wariness among its counterparts. nobody wants to get stung by a lionfish you noe. and gradually, this wariness came to pass on to the lionfish itself, and it became conscious of its own potency, the danger that it itself could pose to its beloved deep sea frenz. so theres always this invisible wall between the catfish, jellyfish, japanese lemon shark, and the lionfish. insecurity filled lionfish. but nobody ever said anything about it, perhaps at most a word or two, but life went on and it was treated as sumthin insignficant.

but as all fish do, our four little sea frenz grew up. little lionfish became huge lionfish. catfish never really grew... thats its max size. jellyfish grew longer and more attractive, while the japanese lemon shark just... grew. and their lives began to diverge. with the sea being a meritocratic society, they were seperated into their different schools. dont mistake me. haven u heard abt the term schools of fish?

but contact was always kept. the sea messaging system allowed voices to be transmitted over miles in bubbles. huge lionfish took plenty of delight in sms-ing. everytime it felt down n out, felt happy n cheerful, its frenz from miles away could share his emotions. but as the newspapers say, too much sms-ing is distracting, weakens inter-fishernal skills and builds weak frenships. and it became the case. soon the fish began to doubt whether its three most important frenz really felt the same way abt it.

life went on. huge lionfish cldnt grow any huger. but lives were still changed. once in awhile, it would hear from the japanese lemon shark that it had gone on an adventure and it was ended prematurely. abruptly. caused the japanese lemon shark plenty of upsets. but through the bubbles lionfish did all it cld to cheer up the japanese lemon shark. lionfish also realised that the jellyfish had been on several adventures as well. just that the lionfish was never told. and so the lionfish began to dream of going on adventures as well. day in day out it was all over its mind. soon it became a fantasy. yet deep inside it... it kinda felt it was all impossible. and most of the time, the lionfish had plenty more to do than just dream abt adventures. multiple activities took up its time, and there was also somehow, the neverending terminations of its frenz adventures, which always disappoints its fishy frenz. wad choice did the lionfish have, other than to cheer them up. it always tried its best to be there for them.

and came a time. that all four fish were now in society. more time was spent tgt, due to the close proximity of their swimming places. and the lionfish was really happy. it din mind travelling the distance to their individual swimming places. the company wld be reward enough, and it was really all that it asked for sometimes. adventures... fish off. it just wasnt the thing on the lionfish's mind at that point of time. yet slowly, catfish and jellyfish were planning out their own adventures again. yet lionfish, being the insecure thing it is, began to protest. he could not understand. one adventure had just ended for you. why do you wanna immediately embark on another which might disappoint you again? the lionfish was confunded. cos deep inside, that wasnt a logical reason to disapprove of its frenz's dreams of adventuring. the true reason... ask the lionfish yourself.

in short, the lionfish was pushed back into the insecure self it had been. cos somehow it could not feel happy abt itself, and it could not feel confident abt itself. it had always looked towards 3 important fish for support, thinking that by being theirs, it wld always have a pillar. somehow, it isnt ever the case. cos on an adventure, u cant be best frenz wif any other fish. cos it wld jeopardise the concentration and commitment one needs on an adventure. the catfish swam away in a flash... the jellyfish slowly wobbled away. all lionfish is thinking, is that when would the japanese lemon shark leave as well?

and the worst thing is, the lionfish doesnt noe which fish fren to tell. cos all 3 wld tell it: dun be ridiculous.

the moral of the story: there are no morals. there are only adventures. and adventures always take first, second, third, and fourth place. no matter what they say. you could queue up... and maybe ur turn would come. one day.

lesson to be learnt: my brother was right in what he said.
